What Ink Does

When the AI generates something substantial (a long document, a code block, a detailed plan), Ink automatically opens it in a side panel. You get the full content in a readable, workable format while your conversation continues in the main chat.

Use Cases

Long-form documents

Writing a report, article, or proposal? The artifact panel gives you the full document in a clean layout while you continue directing the AI in the chat. Ask for revisions, and the document updates in the panel.

Code files

Generated code appears in the artifact panel with proper syntax highlighting. Review the full file while discussing implementation details in the chat.

Plans and outlines

Project plans, content calendars, and detailed outlines benefit from the extra space. See the full structure while refining individual sections through conversation.

Charts and visualizations

Data visualizations render in the artifact panel with full interactivity. Select chart types, adjust data, and export results without leaving the conversation.

The Workflow

1. Start a conversation normally
2. When the AI generates substantial content, it appears in the Ink panel
3. Continue your conversation in the main chat
4. The artifact updates as you refine your request
5. Copy, download, or snapshot the final result

Why It Matters

The traditional workflow is: generate content in AI, copy it, paste it into a document editor, format it, go back to AI for changes, copy again. Ink cuts out the middle steps. Your workspace and your conversation live side by side.

Snapshots and Export

Take snapshots of your artifacts at any point. Copy content in the format you need. The artifact is a living document that evolves with your conversation, and you can capture any version along the way.
